ABOUT

Isis is a writer and cultural producer from Brooklyn, NY. Her work explores how modes of communication and performance, such as language and fashion, reflect how race and gender influence how we build identity and community. With an interest in global exchange, she gravitates toward underground and countercultures—think streetwear and House—that illuminate how culture is synthesized and sustained to create a freer present and future.

You can find her words in publications like Byline and Hella Mutuals. Isis has also written copy and produced programming for organizations like BOMB Magazine, The Kitchen, and Team Design Studio.

Isis holds a BA in Literature and Africana Studies and in 2021 was awarded the Thomas J. Watson Fellowship.
